An Adventure in Chester

23rd & 24th September 2023

The weather held, and starting at the magnificent Cathedral we walked the walls seeing many of the sights of Chester including the Eastgate Clock, the second most photographed clock in the country, and the Rows. This was followed by a tour around the Grosvenor Museum including some interesting dioramas from the Stuart, Victorian and Edwardian eras.

Jane, Laura, Carl, Flick, Peta, Tom, Casca, Wendy, Clare, Kelsey, Viv (and photo taken by Gemma!)

Finally back to the Cathedral Refectory for a delicious afternoon tea, and for those staying overnight we had a lovely evening meal at Atina Kitchen.

The following day also dawned bright and clear and we met at Chester train station for the journey to Port Sunlight.

A lovely stroll through some of the grander parts took us to the Lady Lever Art Gallery and the Flower Fairies exhibition after which we went around the rest of the gallery, had lunch in the café and then returned home on the train. A thoroughly enjoyable weekend!
