Railway Rendezvous

Saturday 12 November 2022. Loughborough, UK.

Wow! What an amazing time we all had. Things kicked off on Friday with some of the group visiting nearby TORM (The Original Reenactors' Market) and ARM (Artisans and Reenactors' Market) to do some shopping for historical costuming materials, before heading to Loughborough Premier Inn to check in and have dinner.

Then on Saturday - the main event! At 12 noon, we met up at Great Central Railway and rode our first Steam Train of the day, enjoying taking in the scenery along the route between Loughborough Central and Leicester North.

Once returned to Loughborough Central, we posed for photos on the platform before boarding our second train - the First-Class Afternoon Tea service. We were treated to unlimited tea, coffee, and cake stands loaded with sandwiches, pastries, and cakes.

Saturday evening saw us return to the Premier Inn to get changed before we headed out to Loughborough Fair to enjoy the atmosphere, food, and rides on offer.

On Sunday we departed from the hotel, with those who hadn't been already heading to TORM and ARM, and some of us *cough cough* heading to Loughborough's All-You-Can-Eat Chinese Buffet. The food was incredible!

And this concludes the last of the 'big' events for 2022. Our intimate sewing soiree in December is sold out but follow us on social media for announcements of our upcoming 2023 events.
